How to pronounce Kabetogama?
Among the top questions we receive from visiting guests is “How to pronounce Kabetogama”. If you are not sure of the proper pronunciation of Kabetogama, you are in the right place. What we like to suggest is that you dip a toe in kab-uh-toe-gah-mah. Don’t worry if you still are unsure of how to pronounce Kabetogama, just shorten it to “Kab”. Don’t be shy, you’ll fit right in like a local!
Are you open year-round?
We are currently a seasonal business generally open May – October. We take reservations year-round through our online reservations system or by calling our office at 218-875-2000.
Due to the unpredictable Minnesota weather, some amenities are dependent on weather conditions. We make every effort to keep the water on for RV sites in early May and October, but we recommend you call in advance to ensure water access or fill your tanks prior to arrival.
Some of our cabins are fully winterized. We may be able to make special arrangements for an off-season winter stay with advanced notice. Minimum stays may be required, and amenities may be limited. Please call 218-875-2000 to discuss this with resort management.
What are your hours during the season?
Our staff resides onsite providing 24-hour attentive and anticipatory service. Our office/general store opens at 8 a.m. for check-in/out, questions, equipment rentals, and other purchases. Closing time varies depending on the season and evening activities.
Can I check-in early?
The check-in window for the cabins and glamper is 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The check-in window for RVs is 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Early check-in may be possible but is subject to availability and must be pre-arranged with resort staff. The Pines of Kabetogama will make every effort to fulfill requests for early arrivals. Special requests are based on availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Can I check-out late?
Check-out for cabins and glamper is no later than 10 a.m.
Check-out for RVs is no later than 11 a.m.
Late checkout may be possible but is subject to availability and must be pre-arranged with resort staff. Then Pines of Kabetogama will make every effort to fulfill requests for late departures. Special requests are based on availability and cannot be guaranteed.
What if I am going to be late and miss the check-in window?
We fully understand it is not always possible to arrive within our check-in window. Please contact us well in advance if you will be arriving after 7 p.m., and we will plan for a staff member to await your arrival. There may be an additional hourly late arrival fee past 7 p.m. For the safety and comfort of our guests, RV arrivals after 10 p.m. are not allowed.
Do you offer any other discounts or promotions?
We are a Good Sam Park rated 9.5/10*/10. Members receive a 10% discount on RV sites, up to six nights. To receive the Good Sam discount, you may select the Good Sam Add On option during the online booking process or provide your membership information when calling for a reservation. You must present a valid membership card at check-in, or your discount will be removed and you will be responsible for the full cost of the reservation.

Are gratuities included?
Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that you have a memorable vacation experience at The Pines of Kabetogama Resort. While all staff members are well-compensated, please note that our pricing does not include gratuities. Staff gratuities are much appreciated for exemplary service but never expected.
Can I choose to stay at a specific RV site?
We will honor your wishes whenever possible; nonetheless, we do reserve the right to transfer your reservation to another RV site to maximize occupancy. If you want to reserve a specific site, we do offer a lock fee at the time of booking which will guarantee your selected site.
Do you allow guests to sleep in tent at the resort?
Sleeping in tents is not allowed at the resort. If you are searching for a campground in the area that offers sleeping tent camping we suggest looking at Woodenfrog State Campground
What is included in cabin rental?
You do not need to sacrifice luxury while visiting Lake Kabetogama and Voyageurs National Park! Your impeccably decorated Northwoods-themed cabin is fully air-conditioned and includes housekeeping services, high-quality linens and towels, and luxurious sundries. The kitchens are fully appointed with granite countertops, a full-sized refrigerator, range, microwave, toaster, Keurig Coffee Maker, and all the necessary kitchen utensils. Enjoy a high-definition LED television with a Direct TV satellite and complimentary Wi-Fi. Each cabin also has an outdoor deck with a dining table, chairs, and charcoal grill.
How do I determine which cabin is best for my group?
Each cabin has a unique historical layout, offering a variety of options that will cater to the size and specific needs of your family or group. Please refer to the website or reservation system to ensure the cabin fits the size of your party.
Can I reserve the entire resort?
Whether you’re planning a family reunion, a milestone birthday, an anniversary celebration, a corporate retreat, or any other special event, you can reserve the entire resort just for your group. You’ll have five luxury cabins daily housekeeping service plus multiple full-service RV sites, all with access to the resort activities.
Are there smoking and nonsmoking rooms?
All of our cabins are smoke-free. Ignoring the smoking policy will incur a $200 fee or may result in being asked to depart the property. Please be courteous of other guests and remember to fully extinguish and dispose of cigarettes to keep our property beautiful.
Are pets allowed at the resort?
Well-behaved pets with responsible owners are welcome but must be registered in advance of your stay. For the safety of our guests and your furry friends, dogs must be on a physical leash and under control at all times while outdoors (even if your dog is the best dog ever) and must not be left unattended.
Pet owners must pick up after and properly dispose of pet waste. Pets are not allowed in public buildings or in public restrooms. Pet owners are always responsible and liable for pets and will be held responsible for the damage.
Pets that interfere with the quality of the Pines experience in any way may be asked to leave the property.Well-behaved pets are allowed at the resort but must be registered in advance. Dogs must be on a leash and under control when outside, and owners must clean up after them. Pets are not permitted in public buildings or restrooms, and owners are responsible for any damage caused. Disruptive pets may be asked to leave.
We do have a limited number of cabins that allow dogs under 30 pounds for an additional cleaning fee of $35 per dog per day. Any cabin guests arriving with pets not previously disclosed or over the weight limit will be charged $100 a day or asked to find other arrangements for their pets. Cats are not allowed in the cabins.
May I have non-registered guests or visitors?
All visitors must register at the office and obtain a vehicle permit prior to visiting any guest on the property. Visitors may arrive between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and depart the property by 10 p.m. Visiting guests may be limited at the discretion of management.
There will be an additional charge of $50.00 per guest plus sales tax for any non-registered overnight guest joining a cabin or RV site. Your booking confirmation defines the number of guests allowed per cabin or RV site. This policy is strictly enforced.
Do you have a pool?
No, we do not have a pool but we do have a small, sandy beach and a water trampoline for your enjoyment.
What are dining options while staying at The Pines of Kabetogama Resort?
All cabins are fully equipped with a refrigerator, range, microwave, toaster, and Keurig coffee maker. We do have a small general store and offer a fine selection of souvenirs, beverages, ice cream, and limited grocery items. Arrangements can be made for grocery shopping at the time of reservation.
Area restaurants are open seasonally.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Guest coin-op laundry services are located on the lake level. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are available for purchase at the general store.
Do you offer internet access?
Yes, high-speed Wi-Fi is complimentary for all guests.
How do I get to the resort?
Our guests arrive by car or boat. International Falls is the nearest airport with rental cars available. Airport transportation from International Falls Airport is provided for a small fee. Please call ahead to make arrangements for this service. Click here for directions.
What is the weather like?
The resort is located in Northern Minnesota near the Canadian border, so we tend to experience extreme weather patterns. Weather can vary from cool and rainy to upper nineties during the summer months.
We recommend that you come adequately prepared for all types of weather. Consider packing layers that can be removed or added during the course of your day. Bug spray, sunscreen, and lip balm are available at the General Store for purchase.
Can I ship personal items to the resort ahead of my stay?
You are welcome to ship your personal items to the resort. When we receive your items, they will be safely held in our office until your arrival.
